¿Quien Pecó? | Who sinned?

Estaba pensando en el verso dónde los discípulos le preguntaron a Jesús: “¿Quién pecó?” Era concerniente a un hombre que había nacido ciego. La idea de que si alguien está enfermo, en algún modo, debe ser un castigo de Dios; es un gran concepto errado de Dios. ¡Dios es bueno, el diablo es malo! ¿Por qué la gente busca una razón o un culpable? En la respuesta de Jesús, hay un poderoso concepto. Jesús respondió a sus discípulos: “Ni él, ni sus padres pecaron, sino para que la gloria de Dios pueda ser revelada”…

 

Sabemos que Dios puede tomar cualquier mala circunstancia, y hacer que lo bueno salga de ella. Allí es dónde Su poder es revelado, allí Él puede hacer que todas las cosas juntas obren para bien. Todas las cosas.


Años atrás, fui conmovido por las historias de algunos misioneros que querían llegar a gente no alcanzada de la selva profunda de Ecuador. Los cinco eran misioneros, asesinados por la misma gente que trataban de alcanzar. Para algunos esto podría haber parecido un fracaso, pero Dios cambió todo esto, para que Su gloria sea revelada, cuando cientos de parejas jóvenes, después de escuchar esa historia dieron todo para Dios, y llegaron a ser una fuerza misionera en todo el mundo. Después de leer ésta historia, (Libro: “Through gates of splendor”), muchas veces Karyn y yo oramos: “Dios te damos nuestras vidas a ti. Si alguna vez tenemos la oportunidad de dar nuestras vidas, nuestro servicio, es tuyo”


Ahora, como karyn está pasando por todo esto, creemos en la sanidad. Pero al final, sin embargo Dios obra y nuestra única oración es: “Dios queremos glorificarte”


Yo digo, qué privilegiado soy de ver la fe de una mujer de Dios; su fortaleza, gracia, y fe, me asombran. Esto no es un castigo de Dios, muchos lo están viendo y están siendo tocados por su andar. ¡Nosotros confiamos en Él!

I was thinking about the verse where the disciples asked Jesus, "Who sinned." It was concerning a man born blind. The idea that if someone is sick, it must be punishment from God in someway. This is such a wrong concept of God. God is good, the devil is bad! Why is it people look for a reason, or a fault? In Jesus answer, there is a powerful concept. Jesus answered the disciples, "Neither he, or his parents sinned, but it is so that the glory of God may be revealed"...


We know that God can take any bad circumstance, and make good come out of it. That is where His power is revealed, that He can make all things work together for good. All things. 

Years ago, I was moved by stories of some missionaries who wanted to reach some unreached people deep in the jungles of Ecuador. All five were missionaries were killed by the same people they sought to reach. To some it may have looked like failure, but how God turned it to the glory of God revealed, when hundreds of young couples, after hearing their story, gave all to God, and became a missionary force in all the earth. After reading this story, (Through gates of Splendor), Karyn and prayed several times, "God, we give our life to you. If ever we have the opportunity to give our life, in our service, it is yours."

For now, as Karyn walks through this, and we believe for healing. But in the end, however He works, our only prayer is, God we want to glorify you. 

I will say this, how privileged I am to see the faith of a woman of God, her strength, grace, and faith amaze me. This is not a punishment from God, many are watching, and touched by her walk. We trust in Him!

Sobre la Tormenta | Over the Storm

De todas las cosas que unen la iglesia, una de las más efectivas parece ser la crisis, la crisis y la persecución. Como mi familia, estamos en una crisis de salud, Karyn ha descubierto que tiene un cáncer en su cuerpo. Hemos estado asombrados y hemos derramado lágrimas una y otra vez, al ver cómo la familia de la iglesia se une en estos tiempos... ¿Cómo la gente puede atravesar la crisis sola? ¿Cómo puede alguien hacerlo sin Cristo…? ¡Este es el momento cuando el cuerpo de Cristo verdaderamente es glorioso!


Karyn ha estado en contacto con su buena amiga, Holly Wagner, quien también es una sobreviviente del cáncer. Holly le dijo a Karyn que ella no se arrepiente de haber tenido cáncer, el cáncer ha hecho que su fe sea más fuerte hoy en día. Karyn está en el mismo camino, ella tiene una fe sorprendente. Gracias por orar por nosotros. Tendremos un testimonio que contar.

Of all things that unites the church, one of the most effective seems to be crisis, crisis and persecution. As my family is in a health crisis, Karyn has been found to have cancer in her body. We have been amazed, and brought to tears over and over again, how the church family comes together in these times. How do people go through crisis alone? How can someone make it without Christ... This is where the body of Christ truly is glorious!


Karyn has been in contact with her good friend, Holly Wagner, also a cancer survivor. Holly told Karyn, she doesn't regret having to go through cancer, it has made her faith stronger today. Karyn is on same track, she has amazing faith. Thank you for praying with us. We will have a testimony to tell.

¿Qué nos separa de Dios? | What does separate us from God?

Hola amigos de mi blog,
En la Conferencia de Hillsong este Julio pasado, tenían esta declaración sobre su pantalla en la noche de apertura: “Las cosas que separan al hombre de Dios, son las mismas cosas que separan al hombre del hombre”. Cosas como la envidia, los celos, el odio, la codicia. No es sorprendente que el mundo está tan dividido, que su pecado separe naciones, grupos étnicos e iglesias. Jesús oró por Su iglesia, que seamos UNO. Un día habrá… “una iglesia gloriosa”, (Efesios 5:27). Quiero que esa iglesia sea mi iglesia y su iglesia también.

At the Hillsong conference this past July, they had this statement on their screen for the opening night, "the things that separate man from God, are the same things that separate man from man" Things like envy, jealously, hate, greed. Is it no wonder the world is so divided, its sin that separates nations, ethnic groups, and churches. Jesus prayer for His church, that we would be one. One day, there will be  "glorious church," (Eph 5:27)  I want that church to be my church, and your church too.

Cada domingo digo lo mismo: Como me encanta la iglesia. Con todo lo que
es, es divertida, es llena de vida, es la iglesia del Señor. Cuando amamos
lo que Dios ama: Su pueblo unido, en un acuerdo, cantando, creciendo…es
bello. La iglesia es una comunidad que no conoce fronteras, no hay en ella
judío, griego ni hebreo. Es un pueblo unido por una causa: Cambiar vidas
y bendecir el mundo donde vivimos. Si, somos diferentes, pero esto nos
hace especiales. Esto no debe dividirnos, sino unirnos más. En la diversidad de
personas, allí esta la belleza de Su cuerpo, la iglesia. Debemos cuidar
nuestro corazón, no fijándonos en las cosas que nos dividen sino en las cosas que nos
unen.
Somos Cristianos.

Yo veo una iglesia, una sola iglesia, con muchos rostros, con distintos
llamados y personalidades, unidos por El.

Vamos a mostrar al mundo, una iglesia que muestre, lo que una iglesia puede
ser.

Every Sunday I say the same thing: I love church. With all that it is; fun, full of life, you know... it's God's church. When we love what God loves: his people joined together, one accord, singing, growing together... it's wonderful. Church is a community with out boundaries, without frontiers... there no such thing as Jew, Black, Hebrew and such. It's one people united with one cause: change lives and bless the world we live in. Now yes, we are different, but this makes us special. This shouldn't divide us, but bring us closer together. It is in that diversity that the body of the church is beautiful. We should guard our hearts, not seeking out that which divides us, but the things that unite us. We are Christians.

I see a church, One Church, made up of many faces with different callings and personalities, brought together for Him - by Him.

So, lets show the world, a church that shows what One Church can be.

Este es el Tiempo | Such a time as this

Cuando Daniel vio en una profecía lo que Dios estaba por hacer - liberar una nación de cautivos, él oro (Daniel 9 y Jeremías 25). Por qué orar, si Dios dijo que lo iba a hacer de igual manera? Porque Daniel se dio cuenta de dos cosas: el milagro de Dios no es automático y el pueblo de Dios no estaba listo.

A veces nos sentimos que todo lo que hace Dios es automático - El es Soverano - El se moverá sin nuestro esfuerzo. Pero igual que la salvación, el crecimiento es nuestro trabajo. Una vez salvados, debemos conectarnos a Él en oración, leyendo la biblia y asistiendo a una buena iglesia - crecemos. Dios se moverá por nosotros, pero siempre habrá que poner de nuestra parte. En el caso de Daniel, él se dio cuenta de que Dios estaba apunto de moverse- el pueblo de Dios no estaba listo - entonses oro y se arrepintió (Daniel 9:20).

Yo creo que Dios esta apunto de moverse por nosotros en nuestra iglesia y en el Perú. La santidad no es demasiado precio a pagar por la victoria! Para comprar nuestro local, por la salvación de sus familias, por la libertad de adicciones.

When Daniel saw in prophecy that God was about to move, to set free a nation of captives, he prayed. (Dan. ch 9, and Jer 25.) Why pray, if God said He is going to do it? Because Daniel realized two things, its not automatic, and Gods people were not ready.

Sometimes we feel that all that God does is automatic, He is sovereign, He will move without our effort. But as in salvation, that is His part, growth is our part. Once we are saved, we must connect to him in prayer, bible reading, and attending a good church, we grow. God will move for us, but there is our part. For Daniel, he realized, God is about to move, God's people were not ready, so he prayed, and repented. (Dan 9:20)

I believe God is about to move for us in our church, and in Peru. Holiness is not too high a price to pay for victory! To purchases our building, for your families salvation, for freedom from an addiction.

Ok, Estoy de vuelta, hare mi mejor esfuerzo para mantenerme activo dentro de este blog nuevamente.

Las personas dijeron que no podian hacerlo, ellos sintieron que no podian, pero aun asi lo hicieron. Los Hermanos Wright, cuyo trabajo fue hacer bicicletas, lo hicieron, crearon el primer aeroplano a motor y volaron. Imagina como esto cambio la historia. Nuestras vidas son diferentes porque ellos fueron diferentes, pensaron diferente. Ellos fueron hacedores de historia.

Tu tambien puedes ser uno que pasa por la vida o puedes ser un hacedor de historia. Muchos de nosotros somos esclavos de nuestro pasado, Los hermanos Wright, quienes tuvieron como padre un pastor de iglesia, no vivieron bajo las opiniones de cientificos o expertos, ellos fueron hacedores de historia

Las iglesias de hoy estan pasando por increibles transformaciones, alcanzando a la gente herida y encontrando la importancia de formar la cultura.
Nosotros hemos aprendido del pasado, pero no somos esclavos de nuestras fallas, nosotros formamos el futuro teniendo una influencia positiva en otros tambien...

Asi que, se un hacedor de historia!

OK, I'm back, at least I will do my best to keep up with this again...

People said they could not do it, they even felt they could not do it, but they did. The Wright brothers, who's day job was making bicycles, made, and flew in the first ever airplane. Imagine how they changed history, our lives are different because they went against general public opinion. They were history makers/

You can either be a servant to history, or a history maker. So many are slaves to their past, their own history, or servants of their culture, their nations history. The Wright brothers, who's father pastored several churches, did not live limited by what experts said could not be done, they were history makers.

The churches of today are going through amazing transformations, reaching out hurting people, and finding importance in shaping culture. We have learned from the past, but are not slaves to our failures, but shaping our future, and having a positive influence on others as well.

So, be a history maker!
